Growing Guilt

In the depths of growth we often forget or ignore, subconsciously the people we drop along the way.
The people we drain as they water us. The people we step on or over on our way forward.
But the worst of these can be the student who betrays the teacher. The student who learns the lesson at the expense of the teacher. And worse yet, the student who doesn’t recognize—and even more troubling, isolates—their growth through their lack of recognition of the teacher.
To the people who have taught me, to the lessons learned and the space that was created once the lesson was learned. I honor you.
I apologize for my lack of awareness of you after your worth made me feel worthy.
I apologize for robbing you of your value to make myself feel valuable.

A Final Note
Do not allow yourself to be forgotten and obscured within someone else’s growth.
"Out of the shadow of the master.”
